Events we'll attend in 2024

The pic above (Nick Leach) was taken at Fowey Historic RNLI Gathering in August 2023. James And Mariska Joicey is in the foreground with an Oakley 48'6', two 47' Tynes and three different Watson class lifeboats behind. We have been invited to attend Fowey again this year with the dates currently set at June 8th & 9th 2024.

Ongoing Work

As you can imagine the work on James and Mariska Joicey continues apace and we have restoration elements to complete as well as regular maintenance. Urgent jobs are are the fitting of new anodes, renewing the anit-foul paint on hull, restoring toe boards and rail stanchions, replacing bottle screws on rail cables, restoring the flag staff and repainting everything in advance of the RNLI 200th Celebrations this coming summer.

The restoration of ON1008 has been ongoing from virtually the first day we stepped aboard in December 2013 but has been gradual with the restrictions of time and money being the governing factors…..
